Yvonne Arnaud
THEATRE
The County Club
The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is an artistic resource and a safe space
for many communities to participate in the thrill and delight of
live theatre and arts activities. They enable people of all ages to
come together; whether they choose to see a play, take part in a
workshop or event, or meet a friend for coffee.
It is rare indeed to find a meeting and events venue that can
truly be described as unique. It is even more surprising to
learn that such a place exists, in the heart of Guildford
town centre.
One of their latest initiatives is the Yvonne Arnaud Young Company
which provides weekly workshops led by professional theatremakers in acting, devising, movement, musical theatre, voice
and more. It also provides opportunities to perform in a relaxed,
supportive and fun environment as well as allowing those aged
12–16 years to gain insight into the world of theatre - backstage and
beyond with the opportunity to take part in an informal sharing for
parents and carers at the end of their course.
Sessions run Wednesdays during term time from 5.15 to 6.15pm
and are £110 per term. Find out more on our website:

Millbrook
A rare find in the heart of town.
The County Club sitting imperiously overlooking the iconic
High Street is often referred to as ‘the best kept secret in
Guildford’, and for good reason. The private members club
has been welcoming generations of Guildfordians through
its double-doored entrance since 1882, but how many
people walk past these doors, completely unaware of the
treasures within?
The Club boasts four well-appointed and comfortable meeting
and event spaces, capable of hosting events of up to 70
people. These suites were refurbished in 2025 and feature all
the facilities expected of a modern venue, with high-speed
internet, air-conditioning, superb audio-visual equipment and
exceptional service.
The stunning Doric Room restaurant is light and airy with
dining options to match any in the area. This is a space that
has played host not only to Royalty and celebrities, but also
many of the town’s civic receptions and celebrations.
While membership of The County Club is restricted, it
enthusiastically welcomes enquiries from individuals and
businesses looking for a truly unique meeting or event venue.
The County Club really is a place that is, in every sense, close
to the heart of Guildford.
